After the 2004 tsunami tragedy in Aceh, Mahyiddin (Dodent) restore marine tourism business with the transplantation of coral reefs and even he was chosen to receive Kalpataru 2010.

Rare soft-shell turtle (Pelochelys cantorii) found in Pulau Weh

Something new we found on the 2nd January 2010. Soft Shell Turtle (Pelochelys cantorii) we found it on Hotspring Volcano at 17.40pm. We find together with Malaysian divers (Yunice Group). On 18th June 2009 whilst fun diving on the East Seulako dive site 20mins from Pulau Weh local diver Andy Coconut discovered an untouched World War II . Still live the bomb is situated at 20m depth and is covered with a small amount of marine life.

We take our responsibility to our local environment seriously. We are founder members of Aceh Coral Conservation, coordinating local environmental rehabilitation of coral reefs and mangroves since 2003.

Entirely independently, we set up a coral restoration project to help the recovery of the local reef from the tsunami and recently developed our Coral Oasis Foundation.

We also work with Reefcheck, a global monitoring program of coral reef health. We dive all year round at Rubiah Tirta, changing the sites we dive to match the winds and tides. Each season has its own, We offer guided dives for experienced divers as well as all PADI courses, from Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water Diver through to Divemaster.
